You Remind Me of Rasputin: EP

You Remind Me of Rasputin: EP

This EP reminded me of many musical styles, but not one Russian stud came to mind. The EP mixes a bit of electro and emo with a whole lot of pop rock and synth rythms. Not my favourite concoction I admit, but it seems to work.

The first few beats of track one, ‘LAPDance’ sound a bit like the demo on my old Casio keyboard and when the rest of the song kicks in, my mind goes

back even further into the eighties with its hammering synth/electro sound. I don’t want to like this song, but I really, really do.

The next three tracks sound very much the same: pop rock to the beat of a 1980s Casio keyboard.

It is worth noting though, that in track two, You Remind Me of Rasputin elect to go for the controversial Cherstyle voice distortion, which is just plain annoying.

Although I don’t like this style of music I understand that many people will. It is easy on the ear pop rock and there is no denying that YRMOR’s skanky

rhythms and electro beats make your fingers click and your feet tap.
